Another new piece – A new direction!
Three Yellow Balloons
28″x15.25″ Acrylic on Wood
This piece was painted on recycled salvage material – louon. The surface does show some wood texture and top edge is not completely straight. This piece could be framed, or hung as is.I’m really excited about this new direction! I’ve been thinking, of course, of little girl stuff. Who she might be, who I was, what other little girls are like. I guess this is my way of preparing myself for what’s coming.
Plus I have to hang this show on Sunday so everything will be ready for First Friday on October 6… So I’m still in the whirlwind of deadline rush!
onward and upward!

Edit:
I just made a 5″x7″ print version of the painting (on watercolor paper) which can be found at my Etsy site here for 10$

I like this because the scenery ties into the heavily textured stuff you’ve done before. I can imagine this in the same room as the big tree I have.
love it! have a wonderful show.
preparation is a good thing – so is Three Yellow Balloons – onward and upward!!!
That is a really lovely image. The small one is so cute, too!
I like it!
Oh this is a really cool piece
Awwww…. I like the little girl with the balloons. Good luck with your next showing.
awesome!!!
Your signature is visible in the first photo. I guess it didn’t show up in the second but you will sign it on the back?
@Roadkill_Spatula - Thanks. I’ve missed that painting… I keep revisiting that feeling and trying to make another piece I like that well. You got one of my favorites!

@promisesunshine - Thank you! It was packed last month… if I can just get my prints done in time, I think I’m golden
@mlbncsga - @ordinarybutloud - @Alice - @buddy71 - @armnatmom - @f5ye_angel5 - Thank you
@PPhilip - The way I cropped it to make the different dimensions cut out the signature. I will sign all the prints by hand of course.
I adore this! I must keep an eye on your etsy shop.
@Shahrazad1973 - Thank you! I am going on a productivity binge I think hehee
Lovely. What kind of printer do you use?
@bloodbreath - It’s a Canon MP160 or something like that – it’s a photo printer with scanner my sister gave me. Works great!
I like the whimsical nature and simplicity of the composition, and how you retain the quality of painterliness that I so admire about your work! I am a little upset though, because I had a simular vision for a piece in my “String Theory” series. I only have a few paintings completed. The series consists of 8 pairs of paintings connected by a piece of string. I have all the concepts sketched out but only four of the paintings are even started. Between my headaches, which are debilitating and work which is exhausting, I haven’t spend enough time painting lately.
@Aloysius_son - I’m sorry to hear about the headaches. I struggle with migraines myself from time to time. I hope it passes and you can get back to painting! That’s way more fun than moaning in pain!
I hope my painting won’t stop you from using the idea in your own work and I look forward to seeing the series! Thanks for coming by! I don’t get over to your page as often as I’d like.
